Our interest is to perform numerical simulations to predict the flow, heat transfer and Magnetohydrodynamic behaviors under configurations and/or similar operational conditions than those present in the LMB technology. We are also developing some related experiments to such configurations.

From a numerical point of view we have studied the flow behavior through non-uniform magnetic fields. For these studies, different MHD formulations have been developed as well as own codes and also free software tools (OpenFOAM) have been used. Some experimental studies with liquid metals at room temperature are being developed.

We have started working on the transport phenomena in household biomass cookstoves, studies are being conducted by using commercial software tools like SolidWorks, COMSOL and ANSYS.

For the moment we have some theoretical models to estimate important parameters like the formation factor for different core rock lithologies and the relative permeability for the flow of two immiscible fluids through a core filled with spherical particles, both models have been compared with experimental results.
